Frequently asked questions
Why are you only open one day a week?
This may be our first and foremost frequently asked question. The answer is both simple and multifaceted. To begin with, we have four young children that we homeschool, something we have always aimed to keep as a top and uncompeted with priority in our life. Secondly, being a military family, we spend much of our year either living and traveling abroad. Being open only one day a week allows us to keep our business simple and run just by our family while still maintaining a healthy family rhythm that is not tethered to the western ideals of outsourcing and keeping a fast, filled schedule for the sake of making money. And lastly, we wanted to be an advocate and encouragement to other small businesses that it IS possible to own and operate a successful small business without being a slave to it. (Not to mention, our products, being naturally leavened, long slow fermented, and made from scratch take three full days just to prepare for the big bake on Saturdays.)
Do you do preorders?
No, as you can probably guess, if you read the answer to the first question, we DO NOT do preorders. However, we do offer folks looking to proccur baked goods for large parties and events the option of coming in early on a Saturday morning to purchase large quantities of baked goods for a surcharge fee. If interested, simply email us with a few details of you event and Saturday you’re wishing to make your purchase to inquire be put on our calendar.
what are your hours?
We open on Saturdays around 9:30am. We remain open until we sell out of everything we bake. Some Saturdays, we sell out before noon. Other Saturdays, we still have a few things to offer in the early afternoon. The best way to know if we are sold out or still open is to keep an eye on our front door sign or be watching social media. We always let folks know through Instagram and Facebook stories when we have sold out for the day.
How do i get a monthly bread subscription?
On the Monday evening, before the first Saturday of a new month, we will let everyone know by way of a social media post that bread subscriptions are available to purchase on our website. Your best best to making sure you know when new subscriptions are available is to a) be sure you’re following us on Facebook and Instagram, b) turn on your notifications for the bakery’s social media feed so you will immediately be notified when this post is made (don’t worry, we only post a couple times a week, so you won’t ever be bombarded with post notifications from us), and c) be sure to like and share our social media posts so the algorithm knows your interested in posts about the bakery and doesn’t hide them from you!
